SHADEPORTS AND AWNINGS
Netting structures, awnings, blinds, canopies and wind tunnels- these are typical examples where maintenance and upkeep are often overlooked. However, due to the nature of the materials used in the manufacturing of these structures, they are likely to be subjected to wear and tear over time.
Shade ports and awnings made from cloth material are less hardy than their metal counterparts, and typically this means that they are usually insured differently as well. Most Insurers insure the cloth portion of these on a sliding scale - depending on the age of the cloth.
The principle of a Short-term Insurance policy is not to fulfil the role of a maintenance policy, but rather to respond when a legitimate loss occurs. Heavy-wear items which are prone to sun and wind damage due to the nature of their function such as these tend to be insured on a sliding scale in relation to the remainder of the usable lifespan of the wearing (cloth) section.
Each Insurer has their own terms and conditions on how they Insure these items, but we can help you to make sense of the cover you enjoy.
